Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

- Mark 10:45

Why Serve?

Serving is the heartbeat of this church. Jesus didn't just tell us to love our neighbors — He showed us how to do that again and again, by meeting people exactly where they were: in their homes, in their pain, in their ordinary daily lives. We take that call seriously. As a church, we believe that following Jesus isn't something that stays inside these walls on Sunday morning, it moves through us, into Cleburne and beyond, through the hands and hearts of people willing to show up. When you serve, you're not just filling a need. You're living out the gospel in a way words alone never could.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?
It's simple: take a look at our ministries, pray about where God might be leading you, and once you've got a sense of it, fill out the volunteer form to let us know which ministry area(s) interest you. We'll pass your information along to that ministry's leader, who'll reach out to get you plugged in. And if a ministry has a standing weekly or monthly meeting, you don't even need to wait to hear back, just show up, ready to step in and be Christ's hands and feet.
What qualifies me to serve?
A willing heart. Whether you've got years of experience or none at all, we'd love to have you. We've got plenty of seasoned volunteers who genuinely love welcoming new people and showing them the ropes, so you'll never be figuring it out alone.
How do I volunteer with Kids or Students?
Let us know you're interested by completing the volunteer form and then a ministry leader will connect with you to learn more about where you’re interested in serving and/or let you know where help is needed the most. Because you'll be working with children, you'll also receive an email from MinistrySafe, our child safety training partner, along with a request to complete a background check. The MinistrySafe email will give you access to the online training you will complete and the background check request will provide the link you need to access that. Once both are cleared, you're good to serve for two years before it's time to renew.
Do I need a big chunk of time to volunteer?
Not at all. Some of our ministries are a weekly commitment; others need you just once a month, or once a quarter, or even once a year. When you fill out the volunteer form, let us know what kind of time you have to give and we'll help match you with something that actually fits your life.
I don't know where I'm supposed to serve, what do I do?
That's more common than you'd think, and it's okay. Check out our Ministries Page to learn more about where you can serve. Sometimes the clearest way to find your place is just to try one and see how it feels. For more help fill out the contact form and we'd love to help you discover where God may be calling you to serve.
