Students

Growing together.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.

Middle school and high school years are a wild, wonderful, occasionally chaotic season and we want your student to walk through it knowing they're known, loved, and never alone. Student Ministry at FUMC is where 7th–12th graders build real friendships, are free to ask real questions, and grow in a faith that's actually theirs. Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, at camps, and on mission trips, your student belongs here.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday School | 10:00am – 11:00am

Junior High (7th–8th grade) | Room 120

Our Junior High School Sunday School class is a fun and welcoming place where students can learn about the Bible, grow in their faith, and connect with their peers. Through engaging lessons, discussions, and activities, students explore God’s Word and how it connects to their everyday lives. Each week, students will discover more about the Bible, build friendships, and grow in faith together.

High School (9th-12th grade) | The Gathering Place

Senior High Sunday School is student-led as they read through the Bible a chapter at a time and take time to pray for one another. And yes, there's always plenty of coffee and hot chocolate to go around.Finding us:  The Gathering Place (student building). Take the sidewalk on the left side of the building; the classroom is through the door at the back, the classroom will be the first one on your left.

Wednesday Nights

Get Connected. Go Deeper.

You Belong Here.
Just the way you are…

No masks, no performance, no pressure to have it all figured out.
Every Wednesday night, students walk into a place built for them:

A room full of friends who feel like family, worship that makes space for God to move, and a word from Scripture that meets them right where they are. It's not about perfect attendance or perfect answers, it's about being challenged to chase after Jesus, one day at a time.

This is student ministry led by people who genuinely love these students:

Pastor of Families, Bill Mauldin, shepherds the group with heart and consistency, and our student band, led by Director of Modern Worship, Jacob Manning, sets the tone for worship that's real, loud, and alive.

So whoever you are, whatever you're walking through

You Belong Here.

Service times: 7:00 pm
Meal: 6:30 *

They Need YOU Here.

Chaperones. Small group leaders. Someone who remembers their name and shows up week after week. No special skills are required. If you've got a heart for students, we've got a place for you.

Year Round Opportunities

Summer Camp at Glen Lake Camp

Each summer students are invited to spend a full week at Glen Lake Camp. There is one week offered for middle school students and a separate week for students in high school. At Glen Lake Camp students experience the opportunity to explore their faith more fully as well as have fun and get to know one another on a deeper level. It’s the kind of week that turns Sunday School friends into lifelong ones, and questions about faith into a faith of their own.

UM Army Mission Trip

Once a year, our students trade the comfort of home for a hammer and a purpose.
On these mission trips they have the opportunity to repair homes and love their neighbors well.
They come home different every time.

Winter Camp at Glen Lake (February)

A mid-winter reset. Worship, friends, and a fresh spark of faith right when students need it most.

Summer Wednesdays

During the summer we use Wednesday nights to be a time of brief devotional or prayer time followed with a lot of fun and relationship building. Check out the calendar to keep up with which Wednesdays we meet on in the summer.

Joint Student Events

From time to time, we team up with other area UMC student ministries for shared worship and fellowship, because the church is bigger than just us.

SALT & LIGHT | Student Leadership

Students who want to grow as leaders can join LIGHT (Leading In God's House Together), our student leadership team: open to any student who's completed SALT (Student Ministry Advanced Leadership Training).
